The USA Educational Scores Continues to Fall!
Depending on who you ask, the School System in the US is either a failure or the best. The facts is that academic skills of American students and achievement still way behind that of their peers in many other countries. That is a matter of opinion according to who you ask, politicians or parents of course! After it is all said and done, many studies and reports put the U.S. at a mediocre 38th place out of 71 countries in math and 24th in science. Among the 35 members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which sponsors the PISA initiative, the U.S. ranked 30th in math and 19th in science. In a recent article published at raise grateful kids blog many parents are taking matters into their own hands. This means a number of things one up-and-coming trend that politicians in local municipalities are very afraid of is homeschooled. However, given the fact that in a lot of homes today both parents have jobs this is a trend that would have minimal impact.
Dr. Koch, the president of Celebrate Kids, Inc., has influenced many of parents in more than 30 nations with her keynotemessages, seminars, chapels, and other events. Dr. Koch is a regular presenter and keynote speaker at Great Homeschool Conventions where she promotes awareness to home school for your children.
Another way that home school pioneers are addressing this problem is with tutoring. In a recent interview the president of Educate-One.Com, he blamed the system and especially the politicians for the collapse of the American educational system. The issues is the system not the money. He has seen developing countries surpass the US in many fronts by simply implementing higher standards plus accountability. Something the liberal driven agenda of the left does not believe. In many places outside the US students who don’t meet the academic criteria are not onlyleft back but also shame in a way that forces students of all grades to pay additionalattention to what they learned inschool. This allows educators to progressively scale up the curriculum and in return race the academic score of the students.
This is a contradiction to the approach of American politicians and educators who believe in honoring unevenness and disruptive behavior with participation awards and accolades. Whatis evenworse is the awarding of passing grades to students that do not meet the educational criteria.
